Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Although their menu is vast when you go to chellino's just tell them what meat you want and how hungry you are and you will get the best food ever.

This is the only Chelinos anyone needs to try. All others pale in comparison. The chips are better. The cheese is better. The salsa is great. I get the Tortilla Soup.. and ask for less chicken. because it is heavy on the chicken and the best part of it is the broth and vegetables in it. I take that back. the best part is the strips of tortilla on top and the mound of cheddar cheese. It starts out crispy and then as the cheese melts, the tortilla strips get slightly soggy and it's just the best. Great for a hangover. or if you're feeling blue. It's spicy with FRESH jalapeño slices... brilliant orange broth. Okay. I'm done.

We love good Mexican food and this place sure has some, right along with thoughtful, attentive service. "If you leave here hungry it's your own fault!"

This is a major split decision; Mr. Muscle actually liked it; and I thought it was horrible. He had pork in tomatillo sauce and said the meat was a little tough but good flavor. I ordered what was described as a chicken burrito covered with chili. I got a VERY flimsy (NO meat, double tortilla!) burrito with 1/2 chili and 1/2 some weird cream sauce on it . Horrible. The salsa was yellow - weird. But obviously tomatoes. So the second dish of salsa was slightly more red (but not really red) so I figure they are using yellow tomatoes - and they ain't heirloom! Too bad... should have been better. Staff was friendly although our waiter didn't speak a lick of English - he would grab someone to interpret for us. I won't go again but may be its all in what you order. The chips were not that great either, but they do serve flour tortillas with butter and honey on the plate - so that is what I had for dinner. And I paid over $11 for that crappy burrito.

Good local favorite Mexican restaurant. I enjoyed the salsa and queso dip and there were quite a few lunch specials to choose from.

The portions are enormous and the quality is decent. I don't know how much of the food is freshly made on a daily basis at any location but I would bet, not much. However, it is cheaper and the portions are bigger than Ted's. Quality vs quantity is what it comes down to. The service is consistently good at all their locations.

We visited this Chelino's after a local told us they were better than Teds. Awesome food and the service is even better - go -you won't be disappointed!! When they ask if you want the (complimentary) dessert, say yes - the sopipillas are wonderful!!

I like Chelino's and I frequent this branch when I'm in town. Food and staff is solid, consistent. Every dish I've ever had here was good. Not as fancy as the downtown location, but the food is just as good. The only thing amiss is the cheese dip that comes out with the salsa, I don't dig it.

The menu had lots of new items on it, one of which I ordered and it did not disappoint. The stand out would be the service. They manage to be super attentive without disrupting you. I never ran out of water or chips, nor did I have to ask for anything. As my friend was saying, "man this is a two napkin meal" our waiter arrived with a fresh stack of napkins for him. Great place to go when you want to leave feeling super full!

Traditional Mexican restaurant. Not a fan of the cheese dip. They only serve beer. Order fajitas steak, chicken, shrimp and sausage with 2 lbs of onions way to much. Would not go back just not taste
